5th Grade American Heroes
Imagine you had a chance to meet a favorite American Hero from history — an activist, inventor, a war hero, or an olympian — what would you ask him or her? What would you want to know? Now imagine that you had the opportunity to become that historical figure and share your ideas and experiences. Who would you want to be?
This year students created posters, dressed up, and recited speeches about their American hero. The 5th graders loved seeing each other’s performances and it was so fun to celebrate their hard work. What an amazing way to teach history and have students explore what it means to be a hero!
