I don’t know about you but I cannot believe that we are almost to the end of the school year! It seems like just yesterday we were walking through the front doors, excited for the start of a new year. The 2018-2019 school year has been a fantastic year at Wasatch. We have had so many great and exciting things happening!
Thank you to all the parents and students who have supported Wasatch students in our end of year events. We had a fabulous art show with work displayed by every single Wasatch student. Our 6th grade music classes, band, and orchestra put on a great assembly and concert. Our wonderful choirs performed for us before Spring Break and also did a great job! We are so lucky to have so many talented students at Wasatch.
In preparation for next year, I would like to take a moment and explain some changes that will be coming to Wasatch’s Advanced Math program. In order to better meet the needs of ALL Wasatch students, we will be piloting some adjustments to the advanced math class. These changes were discussed and planned by our school leadership team consisting of 11 teachers representing every grade level at Wasatch. Starting 2019-2020, all students will receive core math instruction from a certified, grade level teacher. Advanced math will be offered as a 30-minute extension time, also taught by a certified, grade level teacher. This will allow us the opportunity to offer advanced math to all 1 st -6 th grade students. Advanced math will continue to be available to students in the traditional English and Chinese DLI tracks. We believe these changes will give us the opportunity to better serve Wasatch students at all levels of achievement. If you have any questions about these changes, please contact me at email@example.com. I would love to address any concerns you might have.
