The Springville Museum of Art is hosting Annual Spiritual & Religious Youth Art Competition. This exhibition is open to K-10 students living in Utah Valley.

This year’s theme is “Depictions of Divinity”

We encourage students to consider the following prompts when thinking of subject matter:

• What does “Divine” or “Divinity” mean to you?
• When do you feel close to something bigger than yourself?
• Where do you see Divinity in yourself? What is your superpower?
• What superpower would you like?

The exhibition will be located on the Main Floor of the Museum from November 20th, 2021 through January 8th, 2022. The Museum will select a number of works to be included in the exhibition. Of those selected for display, a small number will be chosen for cash prizes!

The works will be judged by the SMA Education staff.

No works will be considered if they contain glitter, candy, glued-on beans, macaroni, or similar material that tend to fall off when handled or invite pests into the Museum.

Pick up an entry card from the office and attach it to the back of your work. Works without fully completed entry cards attached will not be considered for the exhibition.

The due day for Wasatch School is Wednesday, November 3rd. Bring your entry to yer office in the morning.

Parents also may bring entries to the Museum from Thursday, November 4th through Friday, November 5th from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.

Each student is limited to one entry.

A list of accepted works will be posted on smofa.org on November 15th, 2021 by 5:00 pm. The museum will contact each award winner to invite them to an award ceremony Saturday, November 20th. Students in the exhibition who do not receive awards will be invited to join an opening reception the same day. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this event may change. We will be in contact with the students accepted to keep them updated on the event.

You are also invited to visit the Museum during regular hours throughout December to see the selected works on display.

Artwork should be picked up by January 31st, 2022. Art will not be retained after January 2022.
