3rd – 6th Grade Writers Olympics
The Writer’s Olympics is coming up! 3rd-6th graders are invited to participate.
Your student’s teachers will have their own deadline for the stories.
They will choose the 20% of stories from their class with the highest scores to go on to the school competition.
Those stories will be judged against the attached rubric. Each grade will have 1st-3rd place and then a couple of honorable mentions.
All students that turn in a story will get to participate in an ice cream party with soft serve ice cream.
The winners and honorable mentions will get to participate in a field trip to BYU radio and meet Sam Payne who does a storytelling program. The winners last year went on this field trip and really enjoyed it!
We will need parents and community judges to volunteer to help with the judging. Judging will involve reading 3-5 stories (depending on how many judges we get) and grading them with the rubric. Sign up to be a judge.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
