Why I Love to Teach

I have always loved working with young children. Every night at dinner ve have “First Grade Funnies” where share something that a first grader did that made me smile during the day. I love teaching reading to young children and watch them discover the love of reading as they delve into books. It is a life long skill and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to teach children how to read each year.

My Favorites

  • Season: Fall & Winter
  • Book: Impossible to pick! But “My Name is Asher Lev” is up there as well as “Crossing to Safety.”
  • Food: Italian or anything with dark chocolate & nuts
  • Color: Blues or greens
  • Animal: Panda or dog
  • Subject: Reading
  • Hero: My sister. She has taught a few years longer than me but has also taught for several years with cancer. I think it would be hard to find a more generous and courageous person!
