Dear Wasatch Kindergarten Families,

In order to help with the transition to a full day of school, the first two days of school, Aug. 23 and 24 will be the following hours:

• Full-Day Kindergarten 8:40-1:30
• Half-day AM Kindergarten 8:40-11:45
• *Please arrive at 8:30am

You are receiving this email because your child has been registered to attend Kindergarten at Wasatch this fall! Class placements are made after testing. After testing, your child will be placed in a class taught by Miss George, Mrs. Nuttall or Mrs. Payne. Each class will be Full-day or Half-day AM. There is not a Half-day PM class. Your child’s Kindergarten teacher will dismiss the Half-day students at the times listed below (only) and the Full-day students will stay for the remainder of the day. We are more than happy to answer any additional questions at the parent meeting. Here is some important information!

Aug. 16-17 – Individual Kindergarten Testing

Parents will sign up for a time, bring their child at that time, and stay in the kindergarten hallway while the student completes an approximately 30 min test with a Kindergarten teacher. Please sign up here:

Aug. 17 – Kindergarten Parent Meeting

The meeting will be in Room 1 (Mrs. Payne’s Room). Parents, come and learn about Kindergarten procedures and expectations. Come to ONE meeting at 3:00 p.m. or 3:30 p.m.

August 18 – Class placements

Class placements will be available on PowerSchool by 3:30 p.m.

August 22 – Kindergarten “Back to School Open House”

Back to School Open House will be held at 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 in your child’s classroom. Kindergarten teachers will NOT be at the 1st-6th grade “Back to School Night” on August 14.

August 23 – First Day of Kindergarten!

You are welcome to complete the “Getting to Know Your Kindergartner” form now, or when you bring your student for testing.

• Half-day AM Kindergarten: Mon – Thursday 8:40 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.  & Friday 8:40 a.m. – 10:45 p.m.
