Learning Targets

  • I can identify root tones in Brown Jug, Paw Paw Patch, and I’s d By (do, low sol and low fa)
  • I can distinguish between major and minor songs by sound and by key signatures.
  • I can sing successfully in a round.
  • I can sing Oragna Figi in a legato style.
  • I can identify the address names of fi in the keys of C, G, and F major.
  • I can sing and identify songs with si, fi, and ri in them.
  • I can sing and identify the chromatic scale.
  • I can identify minor and major seconds and thirds (intervals)
  • I can sing the various parts of Papageno’s Glockenspiel
  • I can identify songs with a rondo form.
  • I can improvise the sections of a rhythmic rondo.
  • I can name the notes on the staff with bass clef.
  • I can pick out notes to songs I know on the ukulele.

Ukulele Karate

Working on their own, each student works through each belt, all the way to black belt. Each belt introduces a new note, starting with two note songs (sol and mi) in the first belt, working up to using the full scale.
