- November 18th, 2024
Dear Wasatch Families, Thank you for your incredible support of SEP Conferences this past week! Our teachers worked hard preparing and I hope you walked away from your child’s conference knowing...
Dear Wasatch Families,
It is a busy time of year and there are several important things I wanted to share with you.
The end of Quarter 1 is Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Teachers will be sending home Standards Reports with your child on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Attached to the newsletter are Parent Guides to Standards Reports. The Standards Report Parent Guides summarize the standards taught in each grade-level. This year-at-a-glance guide is written in parent-friendly language, and is intended to help parents understand what students will be learning throughout the year. The Parent Guides are not intended to be a report card, or used to identify which standards have been covered/mastered. It is simply a guide that Provo City School District provides for parents. As a reminder, the following is the scale that is used to determine the number assigned to each standard for the standards taught that particular term.
4 = Meets grade level standard 3 = Near grade level standard 2 = Below grade level standard 1 = Well below grade level standard NYT = Not yet taught
• The score “Meets Standard” indicates the student has met all the standards for a given quarter.
The annual Halloween Parade will be held on Thursday, October 31 at 1:30 p.m. We will parade outside (weather permitting) in the grassy bowl area of the playground, south of the black top. As in years past, students are welcome to dress up for Halloween that day as long as their costume is not a distraction to learning. In addition, masks, fake weapons or costumes that cover a child’s face are not allowed at school or for the Halloween Parade.
Lastly, Fall Break begins Thursday, October 17-Tuesday, October 22, 2024. We look forward to students returning on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Mark your calendars for Parent Teacher Conferences November 13-14, 2024. More information will be forthcoming.
Sincerely,
Ruth Ann Snow, Principal
