Summer Reading Lists for Battle of the Books

Looking for books for your 3rd-6th grader to read over the summer? Try reading from our Battle of the Books lists and prepare for next year!
If you are not familiar with the Battle of the Books program, students who have signed up are divided into teams and will work together to read all the books on the program booklist. The school library has several copies of each book on the list for students to take turns reading. They can also check them out from the Provo City Library, Sora, or online. Students may read these books in any format – online or physical books – as well as listen to them as an audiobook or have them read to them by a parent.
The students on each team will work together to read all of the books on their assigned booklist to begin competing in January. Teams will compete against each other to answer questions about the books and earn points until we have one 3rd/4th-grade team and one 5th/6th-grade team for the school. Those two teams will then compete against other elementary schools in a district-level competition in April.
This program is so much fun and students at any reading level can participate because the books range from easy picture books to harder chapter books. Students really enjoy competing and it really helps students with reading comprehension– as they have to understand the material in the books in order to answer the questions properly. program this year! Si no estás familiarizado con el programa de la Batalla de los Libros, los alumnos que se han apuntado se dividen en equipos y rabajarán juntos para leer odos los libros de la lista del programa. La biblioteca escolar dispone de varios ejemplares de cada libro de la lista para que los alumnos los lean por u os. También pueden sacarlos de la biblioteca de la ciudad de Provo, de Sora o por Inte et. Los alumnos pueden leer estos libros en cualquier formato -en línea o libros físicos-, así como escucharlos en forma de audiolibro o que se los lea uno de sus padres.
Los alumnos se u an para leer cada uno de los libros de la lista.
Los alumnos de cada equipo rabajarán juntos para leer odos los libros de la lista que se les haya asignado para empezar a competir en enero. Los equipos competirán entre sí para responder a preguntas sobre los libros y ganar puntos hasta que engamos un equipo de 3º/4º y otro de 5º/6º para el colegio. Esos dos equipos competirán entonces contra otros colegios de primaria en una competición a nivel de distrito en abril.
