Welcome Assistant Principal – Mary James
I hail from rural Arizona, and came from the corporate world to teach elementary and middle school gifted, and high school business and technology. I moved from the heat of the Sonoran Desert to the very unpredictable weather of Utah in 2001. taught in the secondary classroom until 2016 when I moved to administration. I have strived to focus on creating response systems that address the whole student, including minoritized and at risk backgrounds, and have specialized in Latino at risk youth. In PCSD I have served at Dixon Middle School, and all three high schools. I am currently at Timpview High School as an assistant principal, and have just started my doctoral dissertation at BYU. I hold a BA in Business and Technology Education, an MA in Education Leadership, and an MS in Instructional Technology and Learning Sciences.
I have five children and 3 grandchildren and in my free time like to garden and paint. I appreciate art and music in all forms as much as I love technology and gadgets. I really do have a passion for unusual tech, and enjoy historical travel, and metal detecting in Ghost Towns and old historic sites. I am also engaged in managing my family’s ranches in Spanish Fork and
Salem.
