Welcome to the 2024/2025 PAWS Board!

We are excited to work with you on the PAWS Board! This year, the PAWS Presidency is Lacy Forston as President, Tanei Henry as Co-President, Maggie Mackintosh as President-elect, Amy Bates as Secretary, Millie Soelberg as Treasurer, and Joy Burton as Co-Treasurer. We look forward to getting to know you all better. Please feel free to reach out to us if you need any help! Here is a link to this year’s PAWS Board. We still have a few vacancies (that are highlighted), so please reach out to your friends and help us fill those roles!

We hold PAWS meetings about every other month—we try not to have too many meetings! Meetings are usually held on the first Friday of the month at 8:40 am in room 33 of Wasatch Main, are open to the public, and last about 45 minutes to an hour. There you can plan and share information about your activity as well as give feedback on how it went and any changes you might suggest for the future. Please try to join the meetings when your commission will be discussed (we will let you know beforehand), and if you can’t, please let us know so we can share the information for you. Another great reason to come to the meetings is to hear updates from our new Principal, Ruth Ann Snow, and Assistant Principal, Mary James. They are awesome to work with and very supportive of PAWS! Our first meeting will be held on September 6th at 8:40 am.

Here is the PAWS Calendar. Please look at it and find your activities. If you need volunteers, donations, sign-ups, or advertising for an activity you are over, please create an email, sign-up, or flyer and send it to our PAWS account at PAWS4Wasatch@gmail.com at least a week or two prior to your event! This helps us get approval from the administration as well as make any corrections if needed, gather volunteers, and let parents know about your event. Because we are moving to the new school mid-year, and don’t know exactly when that will happen (we are still hoping to make the move over Winter Break), all of the activities in 2025 are tentative and may be changed based on when we actually move and the space availability we have at the new campus. If activity dates change, we will notify you as soon as we know. Here is the link to the PAWS Reimbursement Request form for any receipts you need to submit for your events.

We will be doing another yearbook this year! While putting on your events, please try to take pictures and send them to PAWS4Wasatch@gmail.com. If you’re at a school activity, such as Fall Festival or a field trip, please send those as well. We will have a Google Drive link that you can use to do this as well and will send that out as soon as we have it.

Our theme this year is “Moving Forward Together” as we look forward to all the fun changes we have ahead of us this year. With all these changes in mind, the new admin introduced a mascot to Wasatch that supports our current mascot, Satch, and give the kids some school identity for themselves to unify them as a student body. They are now the Wasatch Rangers (as in park rangers), which we think beautifully supports attending a school nestled on a mountain, our school’s emphasis on STEAM, and Satch. The admin asked us to redesign our school shirt this year to reflect that change, and we are so excited about the shirts Stephanie Ford designed to introduce this to the school (mock-up and design attached) and hope you love them as much as we do! You can buy one at Back-to-School Night this Thursday from 5:30-6:30 pm.

We are so excited to work with you! Please feel free to reach out to us anytime!

Thanks in advance for your help this year! The PAWS Presidency
