In 2015, President Obama launched Every Kid in a Park (EKIP), an initiative to encourage 4th grade children and their families to enjoy our country’s national parks and public lands, for FREE.

This program continues but has been renamed “Every Kid Outdoors.” All current 4th grade students (or home-school equivalent) are eligible for an “Every Kid Outdoors” pass, which is valid for the 2022 to 2023 school year. It expires August 31, 2023.

To get your annual pass today, follow these three easy steps:

  1. Go to the Every Kid Outdoors website and print out a paper pass.
  2. Paper passes can be exchanged for plastic passes at certain sites.
  3. Use your “Every Kid Outdoors” pass as many times as you want throughout the year to discover hundreds of majestic landscapes, breathtaking views, and inspiring historic sites across the entire country.

For more information and official rules, visit the Every Kid Outdoors Website.
