Hunger Doesn’t Take a Summer Break! 

Child Nutrition Program – 2021 Summer Meals Nutritious Summer Meals for Children and Teens Ages 0-18 Years

Beginning June 7th, children can enjoy FREE breakfast and lunch through the Provo City School District Child Nutrition Program! The Summer Meals Program assures children still have access to wholesome foods while having fun in the sun during their summer break. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the federally funded nutrition program is open to ALL CHILDREN and TEENS ages 0-18 years at approved sites located in low-income areas, or that serve a group of children most of whom are low income. No application is necessary to drop in for a meal and all children and teens are welcome!

The Provo Board of Education, Superintendent Rittel, and the Child Nutrition Program, recognize the need for safe and healthy meals within the Provo community when schools are not in session. Serving as a key building block, the Summer Meals Program provides our children with access to nutritious meals during the summer break safeguarding their health and happiness and helping them return to school in the fall ready to learn!

This summer, meals will be served using a ONE TIME PICK UP of grab-and-go meals curbside style. This means that families will pick up today’s lunch and the next day’s breakfast curbside in one grab-and-go bag. Following is a list of schools with meal service dates and times. Please be aware that menu changes may occur due to product availability.

Each school provides meals Monday through Thursday only. There is no program Monday, July 5, 2021.

The Child Nutrition Summer Meals Program is a wonderful opportunity for children to enjoy great tasting, nutritious meals during the summer break! Fruits and veggies are provided every day with an occasional small surprise in every lunch bag!

Programa de Nutrición Infantil – Comidas Durante el Verano del 2021

Comidas Nutritivas Durante el Verano para los Niños y los Jóvenes de Edad de 0 a 18 Años ¡Tendremos sitios ADICIONALES durante el verano de 2021!

A partir del 7 de junio, los niños pueden disfrutar de desayunos y almuerzos GRATIS a través del Programa de Nutrición Infantil del Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad de Provo. El Programa de Comidas durante el Verano asegura que los niños tengan acceso a alimentos saludables mientras se divierten bajo el sol durante sus vacaciones de verano. El programa de nutrición financiado con fondos federales está patrocinado por el Departamento de Agricultura de los EE. UU. (USDA), y es para TODOS LOS NIÑOS y LOS JOVENES de 0 a 18 años en sitios aprobados en áreas de bajos ingresos, o que atienden un grupo de niños, con la mayoría de bajos ingresos. Todos los niños y jóvenes son bienvenidos, no es necesario llenar una solicitud para participar.

La Junta Educativa de Provo, el Superintendente Rittel y el Programa de Nutrición Infantil reconocen la necesidad que tienen los menores de edad de comidas seguras y saludables dentro de la comunidad de Provo mientras las escuelas no están en sesión. El Programa de Comidas de Verano es un componente clave, les brinda a nuestros niños acceso a comidas nutritivas durante las vacaciones de verano cuidando de su salud y felicidad y ayudándolos a regresar a la escuela en el otoño ¡listos para aprender!

Este verano, las dos comidas se servirán usando el sistema GRAB-and-GO (una vez al día, en la modalidad de autoservicio, las recogerá sin bajarse del automóvil). Esto significa que las familias recogerán el almuerzo de hoy y el desayuno del día siguiente en una bolsa para llevar. A continuación esta la lista de escuelas con fechas y horarios de servicio. Tenga en cuenta que los cambios de menú son debidos a la disponibilidad de los productos.

Las escuelas ofrecen comidas solo de lunes a jueves. El lunes 5 de julio de 2021 será un día feriado y el programa no dará comidas.
