Wasatch Elementary School

We wanted to take a minute to recap the last month, give a shout-out to those that made it possible and take a peek at the upcoming month. September started off with an outpouring of love, support, and strength from our Wasatch Community for those affected so deeply by the tragedy at the end of August. Our hearts and thoughts continue to go out to the families involved. We want to thank our Wasatch Community in coming together and demonstrating “Stronger Together!” Thank you to all those who donated toward the families affected. We want to thank our Wasatch Staff for staying strong during such a difficult time. Thank you to Texas Roadhouse who came and supported our Wasatch Staff and families affected by donating meals multiple times. We are touched by the generosity and outpouring of love. We truly are The Best School in the Land!

We were able to have a few fun events take place throughout September. The kids had some fun activities during lunchtime the week of safety week. They were all able to have their vision checked and pictures taken. To close out the month we celebrated with the Fall Festival! We want to thank Kendal Thurston and the Fall Festival committee for all their hard work for putting together the event!! We also want to thank all those who donated towards the event. Because of the support over $13,000 was raised which will be donated to the classrooms. We really could not do this without the support of the community! Thank you!!

October is around the corner, and we will have a PAWS meeting Friday, October 7th at 8:45 am in room 33. All are invited. We have a zoom link available. We invite all to follow us on Facebook and Instagram. First term will come to an end October 12th, and fall break is from the 13-17th with a professional development day on the 18th. We are excited to have our Art Expressions submissions due Friday the 21st a little after we return from break. More information about Art Expressions will be forthcoming. We’ll end October with Red Ribbon Week and Halloween! Our first SEP Conferences will take place November 2-4th so keep in mind those will be early release days! A sign-up will come out for donations for the Teacher’s dinner sometime in October.

We’re also excited for a new program to come to Wasatch. “Watch Dogs” is a new father volunteer program. We’re in search of a “Watch Dogs” committee of 6 parents, 1 to be the “Top Dog” and help in organizing 2 events. If you’re interested, in being a part of the committee or the “Top Dog” please sign-up. More information will be shared over the next few weeks about this program!

We have Sodalicious cards available in the office for $20 with both soda cards and cookie cards as options. There are also poster boards available for $5 in the office for STEM or any other projects the kids might have. We have T-shirts still available for order as well as vintage T-shirts and hoodies.  To order please email us at PAWS4Wasatch@gmail.com.

Thank you again for all your support!
