This year for Red Ribbon Week our theme is “Healthy Brains Don’t Do Drugs”. Many teenagers with emotional and mental health challenges turn to drugs as a way to self-medicate and avoid feeling difficult emotions. Helping our children develop healthy coping strategies is an important way that we can help them stay drug free. Our Friday activity and morning announcements will focus on developing positive emotional and mental health and we would love our parents to get involved with continuing these conversations at home by asking your children what they learned. There are some great online resources at Coping Skills for Kids, Take 5 Breathing Exercise for Kids, the Child Mind Institute, and great mindfulness and meditation apps like Headspace.

October 23-25

  • Thursday—Disguise Day (Hats, mustaches, etc.)
